Who We Are

About Us

We are a small data team that got tired of buying B2B lists padded with dead numbers, and decided to build the version we actually wanted to buy.

Our Story

Why this site exists

Anyone who has bought a business contact list in India knows the pattern. The file arrives and it is enormous. By the second morning of calling it is obvious that a large share of the numbers are disconnected, another share belong to businesses that shut years ago, and the rest were never verified by anybody at any point. The row count was the product. Whether the rows worked was somebody else’s problem.

What makes that model persist is that it is very hard to disprove before you pay. The sample looks fine. The file is too large to check. By the time the connect rate tells the story, the invoice is settled and the vendor has moved on to the next buyer.

Why GST data is a better starting point

A GST registration is an active filing rather than a scraped page. It carries a legal name as filed, a principal place of business, a constitution type, contact details and – critically – a status. That status field alone does something no directory scrape can: it tells you whether the business is still trading.

Built on properly and verified before delivery, that produces a smaller file that connects. Smaller is the part buyers resist and the part that matters. A verified file of ten thousand beats an unverified file of a million every single time you have to pay human beings to work through it.

How we work

  • We would rather ship fewer rows. An empty field is information: it says this registration has no usable number. An invented number is a wasted call, an annoyed stranger and a caller who trusts the next row a little less.
  • We show the data before the invoice. Every customer starts with a free sample on their own GST numbers, chosen by them, not by us.
  • We report honestly. The delivery summary states what matched and what did not, and it is designed to reconcile against the invoice.
  • We tell you when the answer is no. If coverage for the segment you want is likely to be thin, you hear it before you order rather than after.
  • We decline work that misuses the data. Spam, impersonation and anything breaching telecom or privacy rules is not a customer we want.

What we are not

We are an independent commercial data service. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to the Goods and Services Tax Network, the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs, or any government department. We do not issue, amend, suspend or cancel GST registrations, and we cannot help with a tax dispute, a return filing or a refund claim.

For anything official, the GST portal is the authority and should always be treated as the final word on a registration’s status. If our data and the portal ever disagree, the portal is right and we want to know about it.

On the responsibility side of this

Selling business contact data carries obligations, and pretending otherwise would be dishonest. The records we supply relate to registered businesses rather than private individuals, which places them in a different category from consumer data – but somebody still answers the phone at the other end.

So every delivery carries written usage terms. We expect customers to identify themselves, respect do-not-call registration and the DLT framework, honour opt-outs immediately, and stop contacting anyone who asks them to. If a business asks us to review a record relating to it, we act on that. These are not decorative commitments; they are the conditions on which the service is worth running.

Working with us

There is no account to create and no platform to learn. Most relationships start with a handful of GST numbers sent by email, a sample returned, and a conversation about what the wider requirement looks like. If it turns out we are not the right fit for what you need, we would rather establish that in the first week than the third month.

Principles

What we care about

A

Accuracy over volume

A verified file of ten thousand beats an unverified file of a million, every time you pay people to call it.

H

Honest limits

We tell you what the data cannot do. Shorter sales conversation, much longer customer relationship.

C

Compliant use

Usage terms travel with every delivery, and we turn down work that would breach them.

How We Think About This

On being a data business

The phrase data broker carries a poor reputation, and much of that reputation is deserved. The industry has a long history of selling whatever it can obtain, to whoever will pay, with no regard for whether the person at the other end of the number ever expected to hear from a stranger.

We think the distinction that matters is not whether data is sold, but which data, to whom, and under what conditions. Business registration records used to contact a company about a business matter is ordinary commerce that predates the internet by a century. The same records used to blast unsolicited messages at scale is something else, and the difference is not subtle enough to be confused by accident.

What happens when we get something wrong

We will get things wrong. A record will be stale, a status will have changed since we last checked, or a file will be delivered with a column mapped incorrectly. What we can commit to is how that is handled: tell us and we will look at it properly, fix what can be fixed, and correct the invoice where the error is ours. We would rather absorb the cost of a mistake than argue about it, because the alternative is a customer who never returns and tells other people why.

Who we are not the right fit for

If you need the largest possible file at the lowest possible unit price and intend to judge the purchase on row count, we are the wrong supplier and you will be happier elsewhere. If you need consumer data, personal phone numbers or anything outside business registration records, we cannot help at all. And if the intended use is unsolicited bulk messaging, we will decline the work.

Why we publish the limitations

Most of this website explains what the data cannot do as prominently as what it can. That is deliberate, and it is not modesty. Every customer discovers the limitations eventually – the only question is whether they discover them before or after paying. Discovering them beforehand produces a buyer with accurate expectations who is satisfied with a realistic outcome. Discovering them afterwards produces a refund argument and a bad recommendation.

The commercial case for honesty here is straightforward: this is a market where buyers talk to each other, and a supplier who oversells once does not get a second order from anyone in that conversation.

The kind of customer we do our best work for

The relationships that work best tend to share a shape. The customer knows who they sell to specifically enough to describe it, has people ready to actually work the file rather than an intention to get to it later, and treats the first order as an experiment to learn from rather than a purchase to be maximised.

Those customers come back, because the second brief is sharper than the first and the third is sharper again. That compounding is the whole business, and it only starts if the first file did what we said it would.

If any of this sounds like the way you would want a supplier to behave, the next step is small and costs nothing: send a handful of GST numbers and judge the output. That single test tells you more about whether we are worth working with than the rest of this page put together, which is rather the point of offering it.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Where does your data come from?

GST registration records - filings made by businesses themselves. That is what allows us to report registration status, which a scraped directory listing cannot.

Are you connected to the GST department?

No. We are an independent commercial service with no affiliation to GSTN, CBIC or any government body. The official portal is always the authority on a registration.

My business is in your data and I want it removed.

Contact us with the GSTIN concerned and we will review the record. Note that the underlying registration information originates from official filings, so the source record is corrected through the GST portal rather than by us.

Do you sell consumer or personal data?

No. We work with business registration records only.

Judge us on a sample, not a sales pitch

Send a few GST numbers you already know the answers to. That test tells you more than any page of claims.
