Find GST holder mobile number sounds like a question with one answer, but a GST registration involves several people. The holder of the registration is the business itself. The mobile number recorded on it belongs to the primary authorised signatory, the person who receives the one-time passwords and signs returns. In a proprietorship that is usually the owner. In a company, a partnership or a busy trading firm, it is often an accountant, a manager, or even someone at the tax consultant’s office.
Understanding whose mobile is on the registration explains why it is not the right number for most business contact, and helps you decide whom you actually need to reach.
The registration is granted to a legal person: a proprietor, a firm, a company, an LLP, a trust or another entity. The public search shows that holder’s legal name and trade name. The people connected to it are listed separately in the application as promoters or partners, and one or more authorised signatories.
When someone asks for “the GST holder’s mobile”, they usually mean either the owner’s mobile or the number on the registration. These are not always the same number.

At the start of the application, the mobile number and email are entered for the primary authorised signatory and verified by OTP. From then on, logins, return filing with electronic verification codes and many alerts go to that number. The signatory might be the owner, but in many businesses it is a trusted employee, a family member or a staff member at the consultant who files returns.
That is why the registered number sometimes reaches someone who knows the GST affairs well but has no say in purchasing or sales.
The public taxpayer search deliberately leaves out the registered mobile and email. Those details protect the account: anyone holding them could attempt password resets and phishing aimed at the person who files returns. The portal and its helpdesk will not disclose them to third parties.

For most business contact you want the decision maker or the person in charge of your matter. The signatory is the right contact only for GST-specific issues, such as a missing invoice in a return, and even then it is best reached through the business rather than directly.
Start with the purpose. For a sales or purchase matter, look for the owner or sales contact through the business’s invoices, website, listings and your own records. For a GST mismatch, ask the business’s accounts person, who can pass the matter to whoever files returns. For a proprietorship, the owner and signatory are commonly the same person, so the owner’s published mobile is often the registered one too.

If you hold the registration and cannot remember which mobile is registered, log in and check your profile, or look at old OTP messages and acknowledgements. If the registered number belongs to a former employee or an old consultant, change it: the primary authorised signatory and their contact details can be updated by a non-core amendment, verified by OTP and a signature.

Businesses often discover the registered mobile belongs to someone who left years ago, when an OTP is needed urgently for a return. Review the authorised signatories once a year, remove people who have left, and make sure the primary signatory’s mobile is a number the business will keep.
If you do learn a signatory’s personal mobile, use it only for the GST matter it relates to. Do not treat it as a sales line, and do not share it. The business decided who handles compliance; respect that by routing other topics to the right person.
