Find contact number with GST number details becomes urgent every month for accounts teams reconciling input tax credit. Credit on a purchase is available only when the supplier has reported the invoice in its own return, so that it appears in the buyer’s auto-drafted statement. When the purchase register shows an invoice that the statement does not, the buyer stands to lose credit until the supplier acts. The only way to make the supplier act in time is to reach the right person there, usually in accounts, before the filing deadline.
This guide turns that monthly chase into a routine: how to list missing invoices by supplier GSTIN, decide which suppliers to chase first, find the accounts contact for each, write a message that gets results, and use the portal’s own invoice features alongside phone and email.
Under GST, a buyer can claim input tax credit only if, among other conditions, the supplier has furnished the invoice details in its outward supply statement and they are communicated to the buyer through the auto-drafted credit statement. If a supplier forgets to report an invoice, reports it under the wrong GSTIN or reports a different value, the credit does not appear for the buyer, even if the buyer has paid in full.
Each missing invoice is therefore a cash cost until it is fixed, and a permanent one if it is never fixed within the time allowed. That is why finding the right contact quickly matters.

Each month, compare your purchase register with your auto-drafted credit statement. Most accounting software and many reconciliation tools do this automatically, matching on supplier GSTIN, invoice number, date and value. The output is a list of invoices in your books but not in the statement, and of mismatches where values or GSTINs differ.
Group the missing and mismatched invoices by supplier GSTIN. One supplier may account for many gaps, which means one call can fix many invoices.
Rank suppliers by the total tax at stake, then by how often they have caused gaps before. A supplier with a large missing amount this month comes first. A supplier who misses invoices every month deserves a conversation about their process, not just this month’s invoices. Small one-off gaps can be handled by email.
Check each supplier’s filing record in the public search as well. If the supplier has not filed its returns at all for the period, the problem is wider than your invoice, and your conversation, and possibly your business relationship, should reflect that.

The person who can fix a missing invoice is in the supplier’s accounts or tax team, or at its outside tax adviser. Look first at the supplier’s invoices to you: the letterhead or footer often has an accounts phone or email. Look in your mailbox for emails that delivered invoices or payment confirmations, which usually come from accounts. Check your vendor master for an accounts contact recorded at onboarding.
If you only have a sales contact, call them and ask for the accounts person by name and number. Sales teams are motivated to help, because unresolved credit issues can delay your payments to them.

Give the supplier everything needed to fix the problem in one go: your GSTIN, the period, and for each invoice the number, date, taxable value and tax. Say what you see in your statement: missing entirely, under a different GSTIN or with a different value. Ask them to report or amend the invoices in their next return and to confirm when done.
A short, precise request gets a fast response. A vague message saying “some invoices are missing” goes to the bottom of a busy accountant’s list.
Use the invoice management features on the portal to act on the supplier’s reported invoices: accepting correct ones, and rejecting or keeping pending those that are wrong, so the supplier sees the issue in its own system. Together with your call or email, this gives the supplier’s accountant both a human request and a system prompt.

Supplier outward returns are due early in the month for the previous period, and buyers file their own returns later. Start the chase as soon as your reconciliation runs, so suppliers can still correct in time. Calls placed in the last two days before a deadline compete with every other urgent task in the supplier’s office.
For suppliers who cause repeated gaps, agree a simple process: an accounts contact on both sides, a monthly confirmation that all your invoices have been reported, and an early warning if a return will be late. Record the accounts contact against the supplier’s GSTIN in your vendor master, so next month’s chase takes minutes instead of hours.
