Find mobile number with GST number is a problem many online sellers meet at the delivery stage. A business buyer places an order, enters a GSTIN at checkout to get a tax invoice, and the parcel leaves the warehouse. Then the courier reaches a gate, a godown or a busy market and nobody knows who ordered it. The GSTIN on the invoice identifies the buyer for tax purposes, but it does not tell the delivery partner whom to call. Fixing this is mostly about collecting the right contact at the right moment, not searching for it afterwards.
This guide is for sellers, marketplace operators and logistics teams handling deliveries to GST-registered buyers.
The GSTIN on a business order does one job: it puts the buyer’s legal name, state and tax number on the invoice so they can claim input credit. The registered mobile behind it is private and usually belongs to whoever files the buyer’s returns, often an accountant. Even if you could reach that number, the accountant is rarely the person standing at the delivery address.

Business orders frequently bill one address and ship to another: the head office is billed while goods go to a branch, a site or a warehouse. The GST record shows the principal place of business and additional places, which may include the ship-to location, but it never shows who is on duty there. The receiver’s name and mobile belong with the ship-to address on your order.
Ask for the GSTIN in an optional business section, validate its format and checksum as it is typed, and fetch the legal name and state from a verification service where available so the buyer can confirm. Separately, make the receiver’s name and mobile mandatory for the shipping address, with a short note that the courier will use them. Allow an alternate number for sites where the main contact may be away.

For interstate business sales the state on the GSTIN and the place of supply decide which tax applies. If the buyer ships to a state different from their registration, check the invoice reflects the correct place of supply. Errors here cause invoice corrections later, which means more calls to the buyer; getting it right at checkout saves contact effort downstream.
If the courier cannot reach the receiver, use the buyer account’s own email and phone first, then the order’s alternate number. For repeat business buyers, keep a delivery contact per ship-to address. Avoid searching outside sources for the buyer’s mobile; you already have a relationship and should use the channels the buyer gave you.

Logistics partners should receive only what they need: the receiver’s name, mobile and ship-to address. They do not need the GSTIN or the buyer’s billing contacts, except where an e-way bill must travel with the goods, which carries GSTINs and addresses but not phone numbers. Share contacts securely and limit how long the partner keeps them.

The receiver’s mobile was given for delivery. Use it for delivery updates and service messages about that order. Sending promotional messages to it requires the buyer’s consent, and business buyers in particular dislike sales messages arriving on site staff’s phones.
Track the share of business orders with failed first delivery attempts and the reason code. When the receiver’s mobile becomes mandatory at checkout, failed attempts caused by “receiver not reachable” usually drop sharply, and support calls asking couriers to “find the buyer’s number from the GST” stop.

Not from the GST record; the registered mobile is private and usually not the receiver anyway. Collect the receiver’s mobile at checkout instead.
Bill-to and ship-to often differ, and the person receiving goods at the site is not the person who placed the order.
Only for buyers who want a tax invoice. The receiver’s mobile should be mandatory for every shipment.
The receiver’s name, mobile and ship-to address, not billing contacts or GST details.
No. They carry GSTINs and addresses for the consignor and consignee, not mobiles.
Only with consent. Use it for delivery and service messages about the order.
