Company phone by GSTIN is easiest to find when the company is listed on a stock exchange. Listed companies in India have to disclose a great deal about themselves, and among those disclosures are their registered office address, telephone numbers, email addresses and the names of officials responsible for compliance and investor grievances. If the GSTIN you hold belongs to a listed company or one of its subsidiaries, the contact you need is probably already public, in documents the company is required to keep current.
This guide explains how to tell whether a GSTIN belongs to a listed company, where its disclosures are published, which contacts each source provides, and which of those contacts suit commercial, accounting or formal matters. It also covers the polite limits of using investor-facing contacts for business purposes.
Start with the public GST search. If the constitution of business says public limited company, the business may be listed, though many public companies are not. The legal name helps: listed companies usually have well-known names, and a quick search on the name with the words “annual report” or “investor relations” shows whether the company has listed securities.
Remember that large groups often register subsidiaries separately. A GSTIN may belong to a wholly owned subsidiary that is not itself listed but whose parent is. The parent’s disclosures often list subsidiaries with their registered offices, which can lead you to the right entity.

Every listed company publishes an annual report, available on its website and on the stock exchanges’ websites. The corporate information page near the front typically lists the corporate identification number, registered office address, corporate office address, telephone numbers, email address and website. The same section names the company secretary, the chief financial officer and the auditors, and gives the contact details of the registrar and share transfer agent.
The report also lists plants and offices in many cases, which you can match against the places of business shown in the company’s various GST registrations.
Listed companies file announcements, results and governance reports with the exchanges throughout the year. These filings carry the company’s letterhead with the registered office, phone and email, and are signed by the company secretary or compliance officer, who is named. Because filings are dated, they also tell you how recent the details are.
Searching the exchange websites by company name brings up the filing history. The most recent filings are the best source for current contact details, since letterheads change when offices move.

Indian listing regulations require listed companies to maintain a functional website with certain information, including contact details of the officials responsible for assisting and handling investor grievances and an email address for grievance redressal. The investor relations section of the website is where to find these.
These contacts are meant for shareholders and investors. They are excellent for confirming a company’s official channels and for formal matters, but they are not the right place for sales pitches or routine supplier queries.
For commercial matters, such as supplying goods or chasing a payment, the registered office or corporate office number is a starting point, but you will usually be routed to purchase or accounts. Many large companies also publish a vendor or supplier contact page or a procurement email on their website, which is the right first route for new suppliers.
For formal notices, legal correspondence or matters involving the company’s governance, the registered office and the company secretary are the right contacts. For questions about shares, dividends or investor services, use the investor relations contacts and the registrar and share transfer agent.

A large listed company may have dozens of GSTINs across states. Your matter usually concerns one of them, such as the plant that received your goods or the depot that bought from you. Use a search by PAN on the GST portal to list all its registrations, match the relevant one to a location named in the annual report, and look for that location’s phone number on the company’s website or in the report.
If no location-level contact is published, call the corporate office, quote the GSTIN and the location, and ask to be connected to that location’s accounts or stores team.

Many large listed companies run supplier registration portals or vendor helpdesks. If you want to become a supplier, registration through the portal is usually required before purchase teams will engage, and the portal provides the right contacts for questions. If you are already a supplier with a payment issue, the vendor helpdesk is often faster than calling the main office, because it is staffed specifically for invoices and payments.
Company secretaries and compliance officers receive formal correspondence from regulators, exchanges and shareholders. A clear, concise email with your purpose, the company’s GSTIN and any reference numbers will be forwarded to the right team. Repeated sales emails to these addresses are unwelcome and may be filtered. Use official contacts as an entry point to be directed, and then work with the team that owns your matter.
